Our picturesque farm consists of 28 acres of rolling hill country, 1 hour north of Auckland, New Zealand's biggest city, on State Highway One.  You'll be welcomed by our friendly staff who take great pride in showing you aspects of New Zealand farm life.

Our Show Presenter is local farmer and shepherd, Craig Barnes. A great entertainer and educator, Craig will help you experience a close-up, hands-on view of NZ sheep farming. No trained sheep here, but extremely well-trained dogs.

The Heading dog and the New Zealand breed Huntaway, control the sheep to the shepherd's whistle and voice commands, circles the paddock, and brings the sheep to the farmer waiting at the gate within minutes.  This requires a caring and close relationship between farmer and dog.

You get the chance to control the drafting gate to sort out one mob of sheep into separate pens.  It's harder than it looks but a huge amount of fun for everyone.

You can also have a go at shearing.  We'll guide you and show you the correct way as developed by New Zealand shearers to quickly and cleanly remove a fleece - another great photo opportunity.

Finally we get to the little guys. We have specially breed lambs all year round for you to cuddle and bottle feed. It's smiles all round from grandparents to toddlers.

Cost: $NZ10 for Adults $NZ 5 for children, 3 yrs to 13 yrs.  Children under 3 are FREE.  

Showtimes: 11am everyday Plus 1 pm Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays - groups by arrangement.  The shows are usually one hour in length. Group shows can be to suit your time frame.

Our Friendly Animal Farmyard is home to miniature horses, pigs, calves, goats, sheep and lambs, roosters and chickens, guinea fowl, budgies, rabbits, ducks, and guinea pigs. You can safely feed, talk to, and enjoy the animals.

Sheep & Dog Show Group Bookings

Minimum 10 persons

Fun Sheep and Dog Show:
A unique hands-on experience. You can hand feed tame adult sheep, see heading and huntaway dogs round up a flock of sheep, try your hand at drafting, have a go at shearing, or bottle feed a lamb.

Show Times:
11am everyday Plus Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 1pm

Other times to suit groups eg. 9am, 9.30am, 3pm, or 4pm. to suit your group's itinerary. Minimum group 10pax.

Cost:
$NZ8.75 inc GST per head.
Escort and Driver Free of Charge.

School Groups  3 -13 years $4 per child
